So, you know how a lot of Stepmania clients related to the In The Groove arcade series usually have a noteskin called "Metal" that makes the arrows look slightly metallic during gameplay? Well, in my process of trying to make a new vector logo for a personal project (Project Arrowstorm btw), I used the skin as reference, but zoomed in a bit too far and discovered something that I can't unsee now...

THE ARROW ISN'T SYMMETRICAL AT ALL.

WHY?

This absolutley irratated and confused me at the same time. I cannot unsee it now.

Here's evidence:

I joined itch not very long ago and wanted to go straight in, so I joined in a cool jam. OST Jam 7. I have no musical abililty, not even a sense of rhythm (crazy, since i actually play osu! and stepmania and i'm an addict), so I know I'm gonna get blammed. Hard. But hey, the point is to fun innit? Besides, I want to develop my skills, so this is a motivator.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS TO THE ORIGINAL ONESHOT GAME

So, I did a little digging around my computer (what else am I supposed to do if I can't work on AS or play videogames?) and opened my regedit. I was scrolling around in active user, deleting anything I didn't use anymore (i did my homework on this dw) and then saw it. The original Oneshot registry. I was quite spooked and surprised when I saw it, then realised the implications. I could restart the game.

I'll be honest, I left that registry alone and I didn't test my theory. Niko deserved to be left alone. Not be forced into that nightmare again. Besides, what if something went wrong? What if I killed them? So I'm just gonna leave this theory out there. For anyone to try. If anything bad happens and I'm wrong, it's your fault. I didn't say you SHOULD do this. I just said you COULD.

It's supposed to be what inspired one of my favourite RPGs, so I'll check it out. Also, I'm getting into famistudio and tracker. Anything else that isn't programming or art has been put on hold. If you look back into my history, you can see why. TL;DR: I go mentally insane.

I'll be quite frank and honest here.

Recently I've been quite a lazy arse and had forgottten not only to post here, BUT TO DO PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING I PROMISED LIKE AN ABSOLUTE- let me cut myself off before I say something I regret even more. But genuinely, the only thing that I did was dabble a little in the programs I had installed. And the fact that I haven't even posted code for AS makes it even more stupid. I've also got a lot going on with my life though, so it may be a while before I actually give any new results.

So, you know how in my previous log, I said I would be doing a LOT of things?

Well, half of what I said turned out to end up as empty promises [LE GASP!]. Which, to be completley honest, I should have seen coming. I mean, re-learning blender in a month with my schedule would be a HERCULEAN TASK. And that's just blender alone. So I decided to slow it down to just a few at a time. I still have blender for video-editing, but I'll take it slow. Also, sorry for not releasing my game or my OC. And the lack of music.

My previous post on mental health was to get people to sleep more. Wanna know why? Because, for the last few weeks now, I've made it a habit to stay awake at VERY odd hours to make projects. Especially a personal dedication to Project ArrowStorm, which, if you haven't heard, is supposed to be a 2000's style love letter to both the DDR and ITG comunities. And genuinely, I really don't want to self advertise or beg for help, but I don't want to pass out on the floor randomly, either. So please, if you can help, even just a tiny bit, please do. I really want to release this as soon as possible.

Before, I made a few tracks, but ideas are kinda dry rn, and FL trial really isn't helping. I'll come out tho, just not now. And it won't be some crummy speecore track this time. (DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY. I LOVE SPEEDCORE.) Maybe it'll be house or hardstyle or smth. I do know it'll take insparation from Rhythm game artist like Camellia, Kurokotei and SWNK.

I still don't have a drawing tablet and whats worse: I just discovered that I CAN'T DRAW HAIR OR CREATURES FOR MY LIFE. I'm actively trying to acquire one with my budget, but it'll take a while. Especially since I'm getting a dance mat for Stepmania.

pp breaker modchart isn't coming any time soon due to sudden schedule pile up. also, i want it to pust nitg to its absolute limit so...yeah, it'll be a while.

Honestly, do NOT underestimate the power and importance of a good rest. It's not being lazy, it's preventing burnout and (quite possibly) mental insanity. It's also why there's been no update on Project ArrowStorm recently. The amount of all nighters I was pulling was unsettling, to say the least. I was on the edge of just simply passing out more times than comfortable (also, still trying to figure out inkscape and gimp! may take a while!).

(PS: What's with newgrounds' new look? not that i'm against it. also, why is that orange haired kid a celebrity here and what's with the other two?)

I am going to be brutally honest here. Adobe is really becomming a terrible company nowdays, ESPECIALLY when it comes to art. Why on this good green earth would I need to pay SIXTY QUID A MONTH JUST FOR BASIC DRAWING FUNCTIONALLITY ALONE? WHY DO I NEED TO PAY LIKE 100 POUNDS JUST TO DO BASIC ART?! I mean, GIMP gives me more than enough and, get this, DOESN'T COST A SINGLE PENNY. Inkscape as well. And not for some shoddy service either. An ACTUAL, Fully Fledged Image editor for NOTHING. "oH BUt dO thEY Have Ai?!". First, there are many Ai Image gen apps out there either for free or a far more reasonable price. Second of all, the absolutely TERRIBLE practices involved makes me want to steer clear for now, since I want all my work to be from human beings who know very clearly that their work is involved and still consent. Acrobat has no right to exist. IT COST £19 A MONTH JUST TO EDIT PDFs. Blender is a LITERAL POWERHOUSE THAT TAKES AWAY SO MUCH OF THE USE OF AN ADOBE MEMBERSHIP. To all Adobe users, WHY. WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO VOLUNTARILLY SUFFER LIKE THIS. Genuinley, I could be screaming my head off a lot more, but I have a life to get back to.

So, a while ago, I had gotten involved in a cool community around 2 games: DDR and PIU. After a while, I found out about games like Stepmania, Project Outfox and NotITG and immediatley fell in love. Problem was, there were many products...but not many clear instructions on how to make them (the problem is especially worse for the NotITG community, where it took me multiple MONTHS just to figure out how to make a decent modchart.). I also noticed that there wasn't really a good place to post your charts (again, notitg being a serious offender. no, i don't consider discord to be too reliable and very inaccessible). So, I decided to make a cool little website to try and fix these problems, or at least provide a bit of a remedy.

Here's to a decent release.

So, I've decided to log my progress for others to see to keep me motivated to do things. It may not last long but, hey, at least I tried.

First Entry:

I've recently decided to get off my butt to create something for one and decided to create a website dedicated to one of my favourite communitites. I won't mention them for now because that might spoil too much, but I've got the basic bare bones down. It's been a while since I coded any website (the last one being a clicking game), so it might take a long time on my busy schedule, but I'm determined. Since I'm so early in development, do you have any language i could use?

I'm also making a python game about exploring a little world. I know it may be far too over-engineered and I know it's not exactly HELLDIVERS 2, but it's my game and I'm only getting started with programming. I've also downloaded Roblox studio under the name "KisanoWasSadlyTaken" and plan to make a decent game out of it.

After a lot of soul-searching, deliberation and re-arranging of my computer, I finally got FL Studio on my computer. I'm planning on being a musician along all the professions I always dream about, so this and downloading LMMS (for some strange reason) should be a step in the right direction. I've already messed with it enough to get a decent speedcore track.

I've downloaded GIMP and Inkscape in case I get a drawing tablet, but for now, I still doodle here and there on my sketchbook when I'm bored. If anybody has anything I can study to improve my art (Safe For Work btw), please comment it (anything along the lines jUsT PRactICe MoRe won't be accepted. That's literally what I'm doing.). For now, I'm just making random OCs to share. I think I'm going to show my first one soon.

I have a youtube channel, but I'm not too sure how to go about my first video.

Finally, I've decided to try to learn blender once again. Each time I tried, I just burn out or lose too much time and give up. I'm planning to stay determined this time and actually see a project through. Here's to that and more.
